Remembering 9/11

It is approaching the 5 year anniversary of 9/11, so I thought I would share my memory of the events. To persons outside of Australia some of what I am about say may appear confusing as it contains references to things you may not know (ie: television programs).
The attacks happened very late at night Australian time. Around 10.30-11.00pm Australian Eastern Time. I was watching “Talking Footy” then switched over to Ten Late News (Was in Primary School at the time) and thought basically “WTF” to be frank. I never heard of the World Trade Centre before so I went out and asked my mother and she said they had been watching explained some things to me and I kept watching until about 2am when I fell asleep.

The next day at school a teacher read a story about a Girl who died from cancer years after Hiroshima, somehow that related to 9/11. Anyways I remember it was the first time I saw the news ticker, constant streams from American Channels and CNN. It is quite vivid.

It didn’t hit me as it would these days, as I was much younger to understand most of it, if the same happened now I would think it would hit me alot harder. So those are my experiences, I urge others on their blogs or wherever possible to share their own memories of 9/11.
